The Grupo de Fotoquímica of Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (SPQ) and the Grupo Especializado de Fotoquímica of the Real Sociedad Española de Química (GRUFO-RSEQ) extend a warm invitation for your participation in the Eighth Jornadas Ibéricas de Fotoquímica (8’JIF). This edition marks a momentous occasion as we collaborate with the Photochimie, Photophysique et Photosciences division (SP2P) of the Société Chimique de France (SCF) to host the inaugural Franco-Iberian Conference on Photochemistry (1’FICP).

The meeting will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from September 11th to 13th, 2024, with a Training School on Photochemistry scheduled for the preceding day, September 10th.

Continuing the rich tradition of past conferences in Santiago de Compostela (2003), Faro (2007), Granada (2011), Lisbon (2014), Toledo (2016), Aveiro (2018), and Madrid (2022), the 8’JIF/1’FICP aims to unite the Portuguese, Spanish, and French photochemistry communities. This event will explore the latest developments in both fundamental and applied photochemistry, addressing a wide spectrum of chemical, physical, and biological processes initiated and studied through the use of light.
